Books & Books Bookstore of Miami Beach, the Miami Book Fair, and Bright Side Bookshop invite you to join Mary Laura Philpott and Kimberly Williams-Paisley in celebrating the launch of Philpott’s latest book with a special virtual event on Wednesday, April 20 at 8 PM ET / 7 PM CT / 6 PM MT / 4 PM PT via Zoom Webinar.
You may remember Mary Laura Philpott from her nationally bestselling debut
I Miss You When I Blink (2019), but if you’re unfamiliar with her writing from the New York Times, The Washington Post, or her hosting duties from Nashville PBS’s A Word on Words, we are thrilled to introduce you to her via BOMB SHELTER: Love, Time, and Other Explosives ( April 12, 2022), a powerful and poignant look at contemporary adulthood, parenthood, daughterhood—as well as caregiving, mortality, and ultimately: hope and joy.
Leave it to the writer whose critically acclaimed debut had readers “laughing and crying on the same page” (NPR) to illuminate what it means to move through life with a soul made of equal parts anxiety and optimism—and to remind us that although there is no shelter from the bomb of loss, love is never pointless. (And while she’s at it, to ponder the mysteries of backyard turtles and the challenges of spatchcocking a turkey.)
Your ticket includes admission to this exclusive event and a hardcover copy of Bomb Shelter ($27 retail price), as well as sales tax, shipping (if applicable), and ticket fees. A recording will be available to customers who purchased a ticket as soon as possible after the event night.
Added bonus: Don’t miss out on these awesome pre-order goodies. Fill in your details and upload your receipt here. You will receive a signed bookplate, bookmark and postcard.
Please contact Bright Side Bookshop with any questions. We can’t wait to see you there!
